This is Carro — and why people end up here
Sometimes, you just lose track of yourself.
You feel tired, empty, or a little lost inside.
That’s when it’s time to be seen again — truly seen.
Most people don’t come here by accident.
Something has been on your mind for a while.
No drama, no crisis.
Just… a feeling that something inside you is asking for attention.
You keep thinking about it.
You try to understand it.
But words don’t quite reach it.
You may notice:
you feel restless while everything looks fine on the outside
you think a lot but don’t really feel clear
you’ve outgrown something, but don’t know what comes next
you understand others easily, yet yourself… less
You don’t need to constantly talk about it any longer.
You don’t need more advice.
You just want recognition.
Not someone fixing you but someone seeing you.
That is what a Soulselfie is for.
A little about me
My full name is Carolijn Annette, but since I was thirteen, everyone has called me Carro.
For over 30 years now, I’ve been working as an illustrator, Soulselfie channeler and artist.
I often notice things that aren’t being said out loud —
not to judge, but to bring clarity.
I make the invisible visible, in a light and accessible way.
As a child, I didn’t really understand my sensitivity.
To be honest, I sometimes thought there was something wrong with me.
Now I know it’s actually my strength.
Drawing has always been part of my life.
I used to make little comics about things I experienced 😁
I’ve lived in many places, both in the Netherlands and abroad.
My life has known movement, loss, love, and change.
When my best friend Monique passed away, something shifted deeply within me.
The way I sense and perceive people suddenly became very clear —
and impossible to ignore.
Three days after she died, she stood next to me and said:
“It’s all about love, Carro.”
It took me about 15 years to truly understand what she meant:
unconditional love.
And again and again, I discover:
everything is already there —
you just have to be able to see it.
Outside of my work, I paint, I love walking in nature and I feel most at ease around animals and while creating something beautiful.
That quiet space helps me see clearly —
and that’s often the first thing people feel when they meet me.
